This is a whole-time position within the Department of Family Medicine, located at our Sullivan County Medical Center located in LaPorte, Pennsylvania. This position will include approximately 90% clinical and on-site teaching of medical students and 10% administrative oversite of the healthcare center.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Chair of Family Medicine, the Medical Director will:
  • Administer the PCOM healthcare center:
  • Directly manage the Sullivan County Medical Center, Laporte, Pennsylvania
  • Directly oversee the staff and provider(s)
  • Implement and monitor PCMH, DVACO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other
  • payer standards in the HCC's.
  • Implement workflows to successfully participate in insurance incentive programs including Medicaid, Medicare, ACO, and commercial insurance
  • Manage the Office Manager of Sullivan County Medical Center
  • Provide Full-time duties that include: 90% clinical and 10% administrative
  • Provide quality patient care at SCMC
  • In addition, provide patient care at the local nursing homes and Red Rock sites
  • Assure quality clinical care for healthcare center patients
  • Competently use electronic medical records in the healthcare center
  • Remain current with all charting, billing, and administrative duties
  • Provide on-call services as needed which includes weekend and evening hours
  • Provide quality medical education to PCOM students assigned to SCMC
  • Other duties as assigned


Education:

Must have a DO or MD degree and be residency trained.


Experience and Requirements:

  • Must have experience in clinical primary care
  • Must be able to manage a multitude of people and personalities within many work categories
  • Must have ability to deal with and manage potentially stressful environments
