Mid-Columbia Medical Center announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished physician executive to serve as Chief Medical Officer.

Located in The Dalles, Oregon, Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC) is a nationally recognized, 49-bed, independent hospital dedicated to serving residents of The Dalles and its surrounding areas. Since its founding in 1901, MCMC has received many prestigious accolades for excellence in medical care, patient care, and community involvement. An alliance between Mid-Columbia Medical Center and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) provides MCMC patients local access to many of the specialists and other resources of the state’s only academic health institution.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, and will serve as the clinical strategist to drive improvement in clinical services and quality measures for the entire healthcare system. The CMO will provide leadership to hospital medical staff and collaborate with OHSU providers to achieve the highest levels of quality, service, and outcomes through the practice of evidence-based medicine, advanced technology and quality improvement techniques. The CMO will coordinate medical affairs and implement consistent policies and practices; manage and develop physician education initiatives; and oversee clinical utilization, case and risk management, and physician satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior medical executive within a hospital or independent health system. A dynamic and collaborative leadership style with excellent organizational and communication skills, and demonstrated expertise in physician engagement and alignment, process improvement and program development are essential. An MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and current board certification are required. An advanced degree in business or medical management and/or designation as a Certified Physician Executive are highly desirable.
