The Medical Director is responsible for the provision of medical services and supervision of Site Medical Directors.
ass="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job">QualificationsEducation:
- Graduate from an accredited Medical School.
Experience:
- At least five years of progressively responsible management experience providing health services of similar scope and complexity.
- 2 years of experience in primary care preferred.
- Experience in correctional behavioral health care is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed in the state of practice;
- Holds a current DEA and D.P.S. certificate of registration.
- Board Certified in one of the following: Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Surgery, Preventive Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Recruit, select, train and supervise the Site Medical Directors, primary care physicians, advanced practitioners and dentists utilized throughout the Massachusetts prison system;
- Ensure physician availability and coverage both on-site and on-call;
- Manage provider scheduling;
- Participate in specific case conferences for special needs inmates regarding medical needs, placement, and release planning;
- Establish evidence-based guidelines and clinical pathways for disease management to include detailed documentation standards;
