      • The schedule is working 2 weeks of clinical, 1 week of administrative, then repeats.
      • Clinical schedule is four 10-hour daytime shifts per week.
      • Administrative schedule is five 8-hour daytime shifts per week.
      • Weekend requirement is 10 weekends per year.

      Description: Our client, a 200+ bed community hospital with academic affiliation seeks an Internal Medicine physician to serve as an Inpatient Unit Medical Director. This hospital offers high quality outpatient, emergency, and inpatient medical services. Part of a large NYC health system, this hospital combines the excellence of an academic medical center with the caring environment of a community hospital. • Ideal role for a hospitalist who is looking to build a career in Performance Improvement / Quality Improvement (PI/QI).


      Responsibilities:



      • The position has both Clinical (75%) and Administrative duties (25%).
      • Oversee interdisciplinary rounds
      • Daily volume of 15-17 patients
      • Physician Assistants serve as dedicated admitters, handling H&Ps, initial orders, and documentation.
      • Will lead a variety of Performance Improvement initiatives, including:



        • Reviewing mortality cases (approximately 25 per month)
        • Preparing for the monthly Mortality and Morbidity Committee meeting
        • Reduce Transfusion-Transmitted Infections
        • Reduce Length of Stay
        • Improve Patient and Family Satisfaction
        • Improve Patient Safety


      Educational Requirements:



      • A graduate of a three-year ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
      • Board-Certified, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
