A large highly respected Medical Center is seeking a physician to serve as Chairman of Medicine. The successful candidate must have clinical, regulatory, scholarly, and administrative qualities. Administrative abilities that indicate competency in personal interactions, collaborations with other chairmen and divisional chiefs, in navigating through program development and regulatory requirements, budget decisions and alloction of funds that benefit both the entire Department of Medicine and the Medical Center as a whole. An academic record that strongly indicates the ability to understand and perform scholarly activities and to be a mentor to faculty members and younger physicians in training. Board Certification in Internal Medicine with appropriate active certification with ABIM. Excellent clinical skills that are recognized by their peers. Maintains an active clinical practice. Strong executive leadership competence. The Medical Center provides the full complement of acute inpatient and outpatient services as well as the latest in diagnostic, therapeutic and treatment modalities for both medical and surgical services.
