**Chief Medical and Chief Clinical Officer Openings - Oneida, New York** Located 30 miles from Syracuse **Chief Medical Officer:** - Provide medical guidance to the providers and staff - Provide leadership and expertise in the development, implementation and interpretation of medical care and quality related policies and guidelines - Provide oversight and direction for staff and provider training and education - Promote positive relations with the local medical community, including periodic consultation with providers or prescribers - Review clinical data, identify trends and gaps in care and recommend programmatic growth and/or corrective actions - Review all quality of care issues and oversee the development and implementation of processes for improvement. - Monitor provider satisfaction and recommend and implement changes to improve satisfaction levels - Work collaboratively to develop clinical care standards and medical practice policies - Seek ways to improve the organizations clinical services - Update providers and staff with regard to new healthcare regulations that will impact the practice of medicine - Monitor Medical Staff compliance with all bylaws, rules and regulations and effectively address issues as they arise, recognizing that not all issues may rise to the level of Peer Review; exercising discretion with regard to utilization of processes outlined within the bylaws, rules and regulations when other methods have failed **Chief Clinical Officer:** - In collaboration with the Leadership Team, oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical standards for all clinical operations - Supports clinical projects and ensures that Clinical Leaders have the needed resources to meet project goals - Identifies, facilitates, implements, and performs on-going evaluation of new programs and service lines - In collaboration with others in leadership, develops operational plans for clinical support areas; communicates and continuously evaluates plans - Develops, plans and implements policies, procedures and protocols to support clinical and other patient care services - Develops and supports internal Dashboard Monitoring Process to ensure that policies and operating procedures are followed, necessary controls are effective and efficient - Works with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure that patients have access to all providers and medical support in a timely manner - Verifies adherence of patient referral processes for specialty care, diagnostics and procedures according to contemporary standards - Develops partnerships, coordinates activities, reviews work, exchanges information, and resolves problems related to clinical competencies; this includes partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure highly effective and efficient care delivery that reduces cost, improves quality of outcomes and delivers an excellent patient experience - Promotes the use and implementation of technology in the workplace in order to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes - Attends the Quality and Risk Management team meetings, the P&T Committee meetings, and other related quality meetings, as required - Oversees the review, investigation and response to patient complaints - Conducts immediate/appropriate response to any serious occurrence/complaint representing actual or potential patient, visitor, or employee injury. Monitors and takes subsequent actions to ensure learning, compliance, and documentation - Reviews, reports on and retains records of incident reports - Proactively evaluates areas of clinical risk based on internal assessment and external benchmarking and implement strategies and policies that promote patient and staff safety - Promotes the incident reporting process including trending and reporting of results, identification of problem-prone areas, and facilitation of prevention initiatives - Through the Director of Quality, leads the review of serious incidents requiring root-cause analysis or failure mode effects analysis. Disseminates lessons learned and process improvement plans - Strategizes and drives process improvements focused on innovative care delivery and/or operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, and patient safety - Participates in the determination, definition, and periodic evaluation of the quality and patient safety program, using data to better understand strengths and weaknesses of the organization to determine needs, decisions, and strategies - Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organization standards, and policies and procedures affecting Health Group and exhibits the value of continuous learning - Establishes and enhances a culture of evidence-based decision making in clinical and management initiatives - Works in conjunction with leadership to provide and evaluate data for quality standards and utilization measurements - Participates and provides reports in Executive Leadership and Board of Directors meetings, and other leadership meetings, as required - Acts as a patient and staff advocate - Builds a team, resolves conflicts, and facilitates group interaction both within the team and with cross-departmental teams - Performs other responsibilities as assigned **Qualifications:** - Graduation from an ACGME or AOA accredited MD or DO Residency Program - Current, unrestricted, active MD or DO license in New York State - At least five years of clinical practice as a physician, including caring for patients in a hospital environment **Preferred Qualifications:** - MHA, MPA, MBA, MMM or other relevant degree program - Experience as a Chief Medical Officer or Chief Clinical Officer in a hospital setting **About the Group:** - Health Group's patients never have to sacrifice local accessibility for world-class care.
