General Description of Position:

The Deputy Chief of Medical Operations is responsible for oversight and management of PAGNY physician and allied health professional clinical performance in their respective region(s). Reporting to the Chief of Medical Operations (CMO), the Deputy Chief of Medical Operations will work with executive management to engage PAGNY physicians, providers and physician leadership on clinical matters wherever they are involved in delivery of care. They will support the CAO’s as well as other related activities to achieve our organizational goals as well as those objectives of the healthcare partners with whom we work. The primary goal is the efficient and effective delivery of outstanding patient care services.

Responsibilities:

Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Actively works to transform their regional area of operation into an integrated, multidisciplinary medical group that supports not only H+H but also is positioned to support relationships with other partners
  • Establish service lines and shared services in their region to better streamline services and care delivery
  • Develop and implement a plan to clinically engage PAGNY physicians and Advanced Practice Providers, including but not limited to convening regular meetings of Chiefs of Service across specialties, and representing PAGNY at JOC; LGC and Medical Executive meetings in their regions
  • Develop and monitor metrics, including utilization rates, productivity and Financial Efficiency as well as other key data and dashboards, to identify organizational and individual performance. Using that data to provide feedback to PAGNY and H&H leadership as well as feedback to individual providers on a regular basis.
  • Work with and lead PAGNY Chiefs of Service and leaders to optimize clinical services and to develop business plans for growth
  • Create uniformity in service and care delivery across PAGNY service lines in their region
  • Work with PAGNY staff to ensure a streamlined medical credentialing and re-credentialing process for providers in their region. Work with PAGNY Medical Credentialing Dept. to support Provider Credentialing, Licensing, CME and other requirements of practice.
  • Lead review and develop projects that maximize the clinical aspects of the Faculty Practice Plan and the Performance Indicators, including participation in facility-based performance indicator collaborative meetings and projects

Providers' technological skills to better participate in telemedicine opportunities both inside and outside of H&H

  • Help identify and develop opportunities to highlight physician’s clinical accomplishments (recognition, teaching opportunities, speaking opportunities at medical conferences, etc.)
  • Support Branding/Marketing opportunities for the PAGNY Medical Staff in their region
  • Support Research and Clinical Trial Opportunities for the Medical Staff in their region.
  • Interface with H+H site leadership and H+H CMO to support Performance Improvement projects and standardization of care across the system as well as cost reduction and quality initiatives
  • Assist with identification and development of additional business opportunities
  • Assist with and/or lead other projects as assigned by the CMO

Qualifications:

Qualification Requirements:

  1. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a healthcare leadership role and clinical experience within the past ten (10) years
  2. Demonstrated experience in executive level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrix environment
  3. Licensure: New York State medical license with DEA registration number
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with communications and project management
  5. High attention to detail and creativity. Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines
  6. Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment
  7. Consistently display the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion
  8. Graduated from an approved medical school in the United States or Canada with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant’s graduation or, a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the U.S.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required
