Our client, a provider of high-quality patient-centered primary care targeted to the needs of medically underserved communities, is hiring a Medical Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical management of the practice and program, including direct supervision of all clinical providers and monitoring the practice and on-site programs for meeting the organization’s access goals, quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, training programs, and research initiatives.
  • Maintain a clinical practice
  • Schedule will include one evening session weekly and one weekend day monthly
  • Direct supervision of all providers who are assigned to this practice as their primary site
  • Performs semiannual evaluations of all providers who are assigned to this practice as their primary site, and their annual competency evaluations
  • Organizes monthly meetings with providers with documented minutes of meetings
  • Participates in monthly office management meeting with nurse manager and office manager of site
  • Ability to collaborate with all other clinical discipline as applicable to the site (dental, psychiatry and other clinical staff)
  • Monitor and Manage Site Quality Performance
  • Demonstrates an understanding of health care systems and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve and optimize health care
  • Precepts residents, medical students, and other health professional trainees as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school and an accredited residency program
  • NY State Medical License
  • Board Certified
  • Current BCLS
  • Current DEA Certificate
  • Basic computer and internet navigational skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records Technology
  • Proficiency in conversational Spanish, preferred
