Texas Tech Health Sciences Center University (TTUHSC) School of Medicine in Amarillo, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting a Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist for a faculty position at our Amarillo, Texas campus. This an employed position with Texas Tech Physicians of Amarillo, the faculty multispecialty group. The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and OB/GYN Residency Program at TTUHSC at Amarillo is a collegial, tight-knit community of residents and faculty with a big mission to train confident and compassionate physicians and deliver evidence-based, compassionate, family-centered care for a diverse population in an open learning environment. The department averages 2,500 clinic visits per month, and 2,000 deliveries and 500 gynecologic surgeries per year. There are 8 full-time faculty members, 3 APPs, and 12 residents. The two hospital training sites are within walking distance of the TTHUSC campus. Maternity hospital services are provided at our affiliate hospital Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a tertiary care facility and regional trauma center providing care to the over 500,000 residents of the 26-county Texas Panhandle area and surrounding border states. NWTHS serves as a high-risk referral center for the region and provides helicopter transport and a state-of-the-art NICU. NWTHS is recognized by BCBS of Texas with a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care. Position Description and Requirements: BC/BE Maternal-Fetal Medicine Successful completion of ACGME-accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program Provide consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings Supervise residents and participate in teaching activities for medical students and residents Participate in research and/or scholarly activities in the department Participate in committees and other administrative dues as assigned Compensation includes a base salary, full benefits package, relocation, and sign-on bonus, along with an academic appointmentThe Womens Center at Northwest Texas Healthcare System is dedicated to providing care for women at every stage of life. Advanced maternity care is available at the Childbirth Center, which provides expert care for both normal and high-risk births through its staff of highly-trained OB/GYNs, MFM specialists, Neonatologists, Anesthesiologists, and Neonatal NPs and nurses. The hospital has a specialized team to transport high-risk, expectant mothers from the northwest Texas and surrounding region to the hospital, including LIFESTAR air medical transport staffed with an obstetrics nurse and flight paramedic. The Obstetrics and Gynecology department offers comprehensive prenatal care including ultrasound, amniocentesis, childbirth classes, prenatal breastfeeding classes, and L&D unit tours. NWTHS also offers a Womens Imaging Center and two Womens and Childrens Healthcare Centers in northeast and southeast Amarillo offering prenatal, gynecological, and pediatric services. Northwest Children's Hospital provides compassionate care to children and their families with 29 private, spacious inpatient rooms and a 12-bed PICU. Northwest Children's has been a pioneer in Neonatal intensive care since 1974 including a 35-bed Level III NICU, the largest in the region.
