Unique Maternal Fetal Medicine Opportunity in Texas

TTUHSC El Paso - Transmountain and Tenet Healthcare have collaborated and built a new, 106 bed teaching hospital and academic medical office building in west El Paso. As part of this collaboration, TTUHSC El Paso is establishing a new OB/GYN Department and residency program with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.

The ideal candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient care, provide teaching experiences for medical students and future resident physicians, as well as develop and deliver curriculum in support of a number of residencies including a transitional year program.

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides consultations and clinical services in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Maintains all applicable licenses, control substances registrations, board certifications, hospital privileges, and third party payer enrollments in good standing
  • Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents
  • Participates in research and/or scholarly activities in the department
  • Participates in committees and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Professional Responsibility

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D. / D.O.
  • Licensed in Texas or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program
  • Must meet the practitioner recruitment requirements as set forth in the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark L

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
