The historic Internal Medicine Residency program at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park is seeking an Internal Medicine physician with experience in education/faculty to act as the Associate Program Director (APD). In this role, the APD will work closely with the program director to interview and onboard residents, develop curriculum, oversee research, and clinically precept our house staff.

Our program boasts 14 first year residents, 8 PGY-II, 8 PGY-3 and a chief resident. Faculty members are also actively involved in patient care and teaching residents at ambulatory clinics as well as the hospital inpatient service. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research and service will be necessary as well as a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment. Faculty goals, as leaders, are to train residents to provide superior care to our patients while they learn and grow in their field.



The position will be 40 hours per week 20 hours dedicated to APD role, 20 hours clinical. Candidates must be ABIM or AOBIM Board Certified, have a minimum of three years experience in graduate medical education, have a solid understanding of the ACGME curriculum and guidelines, be a skilled administrator, and have a passion for teaching.
