Job Overview

looking for a licensed/Board Certified Physician to join our expanding primary care team who will provide patients with high-quality treatment and diagnostic services in our new state-of-the-art facility located in Coral Springs, FL. The ideal candidate is an intuitive healthcare professional whose diagnostic abilities are only matched by their concern for their patients. The Physician must ensure an adequate environment for the professional well-being of the working forces, notably the medical staff. The Physician is responsible for developing and improving the foundation policy, protocols, and procedures. The Physician is responsible for every process that may interfere directly or indirectly with the quality of care. He or she must develop cooperation between medical providers, medical staff, and other working personnel. In addition, the Physician must be available and capable of evaluating and managing any acute dysfunction in any medical area/unit and with the shortest reasonable delay. They must adopt an exemplary behavior, also he or she should cultivate and promote the spirit of trust and professionalism within our facility. The Physician must have a three-dimensional, broad mind, thinking globally in order to improve the medical practice even when some tools are not always available. The right candidate will have a passion for providing world-class medical care to patients and will enjoy working closely with patients, and their families, as well as with other healthcare professionals inside/outside our organization. The Physician must also demonstrate the ability the operate independently and effectively collaborate with internal/external healthcare professionals.

Physician responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the primary healthcare team to provide patients with primary medical care services within the standard of care for Internal Medicine/Family Medicine patients.
  • Plans and directs all aspects of an organization's medical policies, standards, and programs.
  • Appropriately address concerns regarding the behavior, performance, and/or impairment of Physicians, Physician Assistant(s), Nurse Practitioner(s), and Medical Assistant(s).
  • Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and medical staff.
  • Ensures all clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings.
  • Advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies.
  • Reports to Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
  • Manages medical (clinical) side of the business.
  • Develops major goals to support growth of company and development of staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the overall medical/clinical side of business.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to update, amend, and replace medical policies
  • Manage our team of medical personnel and medical students to ensure that employees and medical students are complying with company policies when providing care
  • Work directly with providers to educate them on our care process and determine what can be done to improve overall care quality
  • Act as the medical expert in dealings with vendors and non-medical facilities that work with the organization, i.e., allergy testing, research, pharmaceuticals, radiology centers, etc.
  • Create work groups and leadership committees that are designed to improve patient care and enhance relationships with providers.
  • Must be on-call as needed, which may require nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Not limited to a 40-hour work week. Responsibilities can require working more than 40 hours per week.
  • Weekly updates to COO on medical side of business.
  • Attend insurance provider, pharmaceutical, and any medical vendor meetings as assigned.
  • Attend and facilitate weekly in-house medical provider meetings.
  • Must complete monthly patient care audits.
  • Review patient charts and billings to ensure compliance with JCAHO and AHCA.
  • Responsible for inpatient hospitalizations and contact with ER doctors and hospitalists.
  • Request to attend continuing education programs. Attend as approved/assigned.
  • Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
  • Conducting assessments on adult/geriatric patients, obtaining medical history, performing physical exams, diagnosis, facilitating treatment, educating patients on their health/wellness, case management, follow-up, and clear and concise treatment plans/notes and summaries.
  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options. Work closely with patients, and their families, on treatment/management plans as well as counseling and education.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
  • Work with Medical Director and managers to ensure compliance with risk and quality management programs, HEDIS measures, and hospital readmissions.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Record complete, timely and legible medical records. Cosign notes of direct report mid-level providers.
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and outside activities to promote and enhance personal development and awareness of the medical facility within the community.
  • Establishing linkage with pharmacy, dental care, and community referral entities, social support resources to improve and expand the scope of serves available through community referrals.
  • Working with medical, dental, pharmacy, and lab managers to address mutual concerns.
  • Establishes positive relationships with local medical community and attends local medical society functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Physician

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred.
  • Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
  • Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments and health regimens to treat patient health issues.
  • Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues.
  • Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
  • Responsible and trustworthy.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, attention to detail, compassion, approachable, and patient.

We are looking for a candidate with at least 3 years of experience in a Primary Care Physician role outside of their residency and who has the following certifications:

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution.
  • Licensed/Board Certified in internal medicine or family medicine.
  • Current Florida Medical Practitioner license.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number for schedule II-V controlled substances.
  • Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
