Job Description

Optum Executive Health Resources (Optum EHR) and Schumacher Clinical Partners (SCP) have formed a strategic relationship combining the physician-led utilization review and case management experience of Optum EHR with the national, onsite physician presence of SCP. The combination of Optum EHR's experience with its 2,300 hospital clients and SCP's national network of 7,500 physicians blends expertise with resources for hospitals seeking onsite physician advisor support.

As a Physician Advisor, you will serve as a liaison between the clinical staff and hospital administration, working closely with case management (length of stay, patient status), medical necessity, Medicare regulations, claim denials and documentation. This is an onsite role at one of our contracted hospitals, Monday through Friday (or select days as requested), 8 hours per day, and offers:

-Graduate of an accredited medical school
-Completion of a specialty residency
-Board Certified/Eligible
-Hold and maintain an unrestricted medical license in the state where you'll be working
-Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital-based practice setting
-Demonstrated ability to build rapport with medical staff and hospital leadership
-Strong computer skills and working knowledge of EMRs
