Applicants with experience as academic teaching faculty are encouraged to apply. Our mission is to educate and train exceptional physicians in the academic discipline of medicine in a collegial environment that imparts knowledge and skills in the areas of patient care, research, community service and leadership.

Faculty will actively participate in clinical supervision and teaching of residents and medical students, didactic presentations, learner evaluations and mentoring, and clinical research. Opportunities are also available for qualified applicants in program leadership positions such as core faculty or associate program director.

The Medical Center has been recognized as one of the 100 top hospitals by HCIA and is one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by JACHO. It is a 445-bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center serving 14 counties and offering comprehensive cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, neurosciences, minimally-invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, weight loss surgery and treatment, women’s health and wound therapy, among other services. There are more than 425 physicians on staff in 40 different specialties.

Gainesville is home to the University of Florida, but it isn't just a great college town. It's a great town. Period. It's where nature and culture meet. Where trees draped in Spanish moss line quaint Old South inspired streets. Where a cozy quintessential downtown exudes hospitality, comfort, and at times, a certain refined ease in its shops and restaurants. Where state parks are a virtual playground of world-class natural attractions, sinkholes, waterways and waterfalls, shady pine forests, flora and fauna, and amazing natural north florida sunsets. And where the surrounding towns like High Springs, Alachua, Cross Creek and Micanopy dial-up the charm even further each in their own individual way.
