A medical center in Connecticut is currently seeking a licensed Nocturnist for a promising opportunity with their growing medical staff. In this role, the Nocturnist will be responsible for providing inpatient services on overnight shifts (12 hours; 183 nights per year; 7 on / 7 off). The Nocturnist position is accompanied with a generous compensation and benefits. Responsibilities include:
- Admitting and managing the Hospitalist Service patients and providing high quality, safe, and efficient medical care to those patients
- Providing consults as requested on non-medical services
- Providing timely sign out of all patients admitted on the shift to daytime Hospitalists, as appropriate
- Supervising codes and rapid responses during shift, as needed
- Supervising and/or performing procedures, as needed
- Working with Emergency Department Clinicians and staff to expedite transition of care and admissions
- Complying with applicable quality and safety measures, including Core Measures from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services
- Supervising, teaching, and evaluating medical house staff and other trainees on a daily basis
- Participating in other clinical, educational, or quality improvement work as recommended by the Chief Hospitalist
