OHSU has performed more than 700 heart transplants and is the only heart transplant center in the state of Oregon. Our program is comprised of a team that includes cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, clinical coordinators and social workers who all specialize in the care of patients with advanced heart failure. Together, this team of specialists evaluates and treats heart failure patients at all stages including initial diagnosis, guideline-directed therapies and transition to advanced therapies or palliative care as appropriate. Advanced therapies include investigational medical therapy, inotropes, mechanical support (including destination mechanical assist devices) and heart transplantation. OHSU is conducting a temporary pause of our heart transplant program as we work to expand our team. Incoming faculty will play a crucial role in the reactivation and expansion of the transplant program.

KCVI offers a full spectrum of cardiovascular services including prevention, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart care, structural heart disease, and features robust basic, translational, and clinical research programs.
