A correctional facility is seeking an internal medicine physician for locum tenens coverage. Credentialing takes about 1-2 weeks.
The facility is located in Alaska.
The schedule is Monday through Friday work week totaling at 37.5 hours. The hours are 8:00a - 4:30p with a 30-minute lunch. The patient population is all adult men at the main facility. There may have a few women during intake but they get moved to another facility 10 minutes down the road. The facility is minimum to medium-security. The required certifications are BC/BE/GP, BLS, and DEA. Procedures required include bread and butter. The clinician will be working with 4 other clinicians. The clinician will be rounding in the infirmary (confirmed not on the hospitalist side strictly outpatient duties). The facility said we can apply for temporary state license if needed, will need to ask licensing how long this takes. The COVID vaccine is not required per the facility.
