We are recruiting a Geriatric Physician to join the largest medical center in northern Maine. This acute care hospital has 89 licensed beds, and an additional 200+ beds in a separate long term care facility on its campus. This community is home to more residents age 90+ than any other community east of the Mississippi. This is an employed position with a competitive base salary, full hospital benefits, obtainable quarterly productivity bonuses, assistance with medical student loan debt, paid time off, signing bonus, paid relocation, cme budget and much more. You will provide outpatient services as well as care for the patients in the long term care facility. You will enjoy an very manageable 4 day/week schedule, with call handled via phone. Physicians requiring both H1B & J1 visas are encouraged to apply for this position. Presque Isle has a regional airport with daily direct flights to Boston less then 3 miles from the hospital. The multi-million dollar Recreation and Wellness Center offers numerous athletic programs. The Maine Winter Sports Center is an International cross-country skiing venue hosting multiple international and World Cup events including Olympic Biathlon training and qualifying completions. Northern Maine fully enjoys all four-seasons with Spring activities including fly fishing, hiking, and kayaking. Enjoy camping, fishing, and sailing on the numerous lakes, and mountains during the summer. The gorgeous foliage that consumes the area in the Fall makes for gorgeous day trips. Winter becomes alive with skiers, snowmobiling treks, and ice fishing derbies all reasons visitors flock to this region year round. Many residents enjoy visiting Quebec City an easy 4.5 hours drive to the northwest and Bangor (Maine’s 3rd largest city) only 2.5 hours to the south. Bangor hosts an international airport, shopping malls, numerous restaurants, a casino, museums, sporting events and concerts.
