Intensivist/Critical Care Physician Secaucus, NJ 07094

We are looking for an Intensivist Critical Care Physician to join our Inpatient unit in Secaucus, NJ. We are seeking a BCBE Physician in Critical Care medicine to collaborate with our inpatient team providing care to critically ill patients in the ICU. The incoming physician will also be required to evaluate patients who may need critical care assistance when called by the Emergency Dept. or other inpatient units, including consultations for emergencies in other critical care units.

Duties:

  • Assist in providing healthcare services to critically ill patients
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories
  • Documentation of patient care services by charting in patient record clearly- appropriate documentation of medical history and progress in patients notes
  • Interpretation of diagnostic test results
  • Pediatric and adult ventilator management
  • Handle catheterization and invasive ventilation
  • Pharmacological and CPR management- according to the formulary protocol or upon patient specific orders
  • Discussion of management with consultant surgeons, and physicians
  • Ensuring continuous medical cover for all patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit
  • Handle prescription and update of therapeutic plans
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Reviews and revises treatment and therapy plans as needed
  • Ensuring plans are acted upon and specific diagnostic test carried on diligently
  • Collecting information related to patient and integration in clinical plans.
  • Communication with patient’s relatives, referring hospital, etc.
  • Acute and chronic pain management
  • Pre- and post-operative checkup
  • Be the Liaison with other medical specialties if required
  • Presents patient history and physical exam info clearly and concisely to the supervising physician
  • Organize and manage multiple priorities

Requirements:

  • Adheres to Hospital policy and procedures
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations and continued education
  • Acts as a role model within and outside of the Company
  • Demonstrate ability to function in collaboration with other health care professionals
  • Ensure that all HIPAA requirements and regulations are being adhered to in all operations and properly monitored
  • Unlimited access to Protected Health Information for the purpose of care, review and quality assurance audits
  • Travel as needed for required assignments, training, and conferences

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited university
  • NJ State Medical license
  • CDL and DEA License
  • BC in Critical Care medicine
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) required

Schedule:

  • Full time

Salary:

  • $115-$150/hr (DOE)
