Michigan hospital looking for ICU Critical Care Physicians
ICU is an 18-bed closed ICU. Critical care residents are responsible to respond to rapid responses, attendings also respond to codes. The work is split evenly between the two providers with Niles coverage taken into account. We have CV surgery, neurosurgery, neurology via telemedicine, urology, general surgery, nephrology (HD and CRRT), cardiology, IR, etc. in terms of specialty coverage. We have good relationships with the surrounding tertiary centers when transfers are needed.
- Days: 2 physicians, 1 APP, and 2-3 residents
- Nights: 1 physician and 1-2 residents (St. Joe), 1 APP (Niles)
- Currently one of the two daytime providers is responsible for Niles coverage. This generally is 1-2 patients. The provider receives report from the night APP and travels in the afternoon. We are likely moving to a daytime APP model with telemedicine coverage from the St. Joe provider.
Average of 12-14 patients in St. Joe and 1-2 in Niles. Shifts are 8a-8p and 8p-8a.
