The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks an outstanding Infectious Diseases physician for the position of Medical Director of Clinical Epidemiology. Candidates must be qualified for appointment to the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, should have experience working within a university/academic medical center setting, have demonstrated qualities of a physician executive-administrator, must be Board Certified in Infectious Diseases, and be eligible for Ohio medical licensure. Candidates with experience in hospital epidemiology and/or MPH, or MD/PHD are desirable.

This individual will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of medical care within all University Hospitals, as it relates to the prevention and management of potentially communicable infectious diseases and healthcare associated infections. This individual will work in collaboration with leadership in Quality and Operations, nursing, hospital administration, Facilities, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Employee Health and Infectious Diseases to provide operational and educational functions within the Service. Close collaborations with a team of ID/MDs, infection preventionists, data manager and administrative director will be necessary to ensure timely and appropriate epidemiological services are provided.

*We are also hiring an Associate Medical Director (a new role for the medical center) to work alongside the Medical Director. This individual will assist the Medical Director of Clinical Epidemiology in the oversight and supervision of medical care within the University Hospitals, as it relates to the management and prevention of infectious diseases and disease patterns.
