Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) at Lubbock Texas is seeking a faculty member for its Division of Infectious Disease in the JT and Margaret Talkington Department of Internal Medicine. This is an opportunity for a clinically superb academic infectious disease specialist who is a dynamic and collaborative leader to join an academic institution that is nationally known for its educational, research and clinical programs. The successful candidate will help advance various multidisciplinary initiatives at the various hospital partners of the TTUHSC including the University Medical Center, which is the quaternary care hospital in Lubbock with national reputation for quality and innovation.

Ideal candidate should be a clinician or clinician scientist with excellent clincal skills along with experience in the core missions of the school of medicine namely clinical care, teaching, research and community service. The candidate should be American Board of Internal Medicine board certified in infectious disease.


This position is intended for an academic physician who will be involved in the clinical care, teaching, research and community service missions of the University and the Health system. Compensation is consistent and comparable to other services in the region.

JOB REQURIEMENTS:

  • American Board of Internal Medicine certification in Infectious Disease
  • Completion of an accredited residency and sub specialty certifications/training in infectious diseases.
  • Current (or eligible for) unrestricted licensure as a Physician in Texas.

The JT and Margaret Talkington Department of Medicine has long standing reputation in primary care which is established through the west Texas region in collaboration with the Department of Family Medicine. Department houses the divisions of allergy immunology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general internal medicine, infectious disease, nephrology, hematology and oncology, pulmonary and critical care, and rheumatology. The department is also strong in its extramural NIH and DOD research funding in programs related to Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Tropical Medicine and Oncology research.
