Birmingham Infectious Diseases, PC, an established group located in Birmingham, Alabama, is actively seeking to add a passionate Infectious Diseases Physician. This group has an excellent reputation in the medical community with the goal of providing much needed additional coverage at the hospitals it serves in the Birmingham area. This is an outstanding opportunity, especially for a practicing physician, as there is ample community need, as well as the ability to quickly establish oneself in a warm, southern location, at outstanding hospitals with extremely qualified, collegial, and attentive medical and nursing staffs.

Position details:

  • Eight bed infusion center available in the clinic; Two CRNPs in the clinic
  • Majority inpatient work: 70-75% inpatient, 30-25% outpatient follow-up in clinic
  • The majority of the time is spent in two area hospitals: each physician in the group only spends one day per week in the clinic following up on patients
  • Full-time, traditional clinic hours
  • Call shared with three other members of the group
  • Partnership track available for the right candidate
  • Hospitals uses Cerner EMR

Brookwood Baptist Medical Center is a 607-bed full service medical facility located in metro Birmingham, Alabama with over 2,500 employees and volunteer staff. The other Hospital is a 402-bed full-service hospital also located in Birmingham - just under six miles from Brookwood.

Birmingham is the largest city in Alabama with a population of 1.1 million people in the metropolitan area and offers easy access to Alabama's Gulf Coast, or other major metropolitan cities like Nashville and Atlanta. The city offers excellent school systems, both public and private, a major college of medicine, golf courses, semi-pro sports teams, and multiple state and local parks.
