Average 12-19 patients per 8-hour shift

June/July start date

4-day work week.

Location: Newton Grove

SUMMARY: Staff medical provider will provide services to the clients at CommWell Health, for treatment of HIV, Infectious Disease, Hep C and Prep Clinic working collaboratively with all disciplines within an integrative multidisciplinary environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides direct outpatient care to patients.

  • Prescribes medication utilizing clinic formulary for outpatients as feasible.

  • Requisitions on and off-site lab and x-ray exams as needed.

  • Participates in staff conferences to devise individual patient care plans, to revise and update clinic services, continuing quality improvement program and continuing education as appropriate.

  • Participates in other related activities affecting the clinic program.

  • Work with interdisciplinary teams through the organization to develop and maintain program policies and procedures and identify and eliminate barriers to integrated care.

  • Participate in ongoing continuing education and maintain current knowledge of HIV/AIDS and related information by attending trainings, in services, attending professional development events.

  • Develop and maintain required records, reports, and statistical data.

  • Participate in all Patient Centered Medical Home quality efforts and attend required meetings.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships among colleagues and community partners and other external stakeholders.

  • Build strategic partnerships within the community, health and human services agencies, and other AIDS Services Organizations (ASOs) in the state.

  • Assist in the development of coalitions and mutually beneficial support systems with other agencies and institutions.

  • Participates in teams Eagle Excellence initiative.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervise students as appropriate.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of medicine. Prefer minimum of 1-year experience working with HIV, infectious diseases and Hep C.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors. Ability to communicate in Spanish and English to patients and their family members.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Competency required in the areas of interpersonal communications, excellent verbal and written skills, and knowledge of credentialing criteria and standards.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current NC licensure as FNP, PA, MD, DO. Prefer active American Academy HIV certification.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Possess a compassion for working with HIV patients, ability to analyze and ability to manage clinic flow of patients and establish time management principles; ability to perform outpatient procedures; ability to work with volunteer Emergency Rescue squads, ability to articulate instructions to low-income patients; bi-lingual (Spanish) highly desirable.
