Job Description

Last Update: 3/13/19

We are currently recruiting for an outpatient infectious disease physician to join our primary care group in Washington, D.C.

  • Due to the retirement of our BC Internist, we are recruiting for a replacement physician for our independently owned, private practice
  • One would inherit a full complement of patients with little or no room for accommodating new patients
  • Although this position would start out as an employee of the practice, this position is best suited for someone who sees themselves as eventually being a partner
  • Our practice opened in 1989 and we serve a predominately gay male population
  • Our focus has been on HIV and HIV prevention and some primary care
  • Both physicians are BC in IM and are not Infectious Disease trained and have an excellent reputation
  • We share office call with another practice for weekends (1:4) and during the week just amongst ourselves (1:2) which is very light, our hours are 9-5 with a 36 hour work week of scheduled clinical time, typically seeing about 14 patients a day
  • Practice is located in Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C.
    • Ranked as one of “America's Best Cities to Live” by US News
    • The Washington metropolitan area is home to three major airports, numerous government institutions, and limitless cultural attractions, including festivals, museums, theaters, year-round markets, outdoor recreation, and five professional sports teams
    • Additionally, the region includes several highly regarded institutions such as Georgetown, George Washington, Howard, and Johns Hopkins Universities
    • Outside the immediate metro area, residents can take advantage of hiking, camping and boating opportunities in Shenandoah National Park, Great Falls State Park and other outdoor spaces

Our practice is a proud member of Privia Medical Group, a physician-led organization comprised of over 500 practices with 1,800 providers. Privia supports top doctors with advanced technology, population health initiatives, and team-based care to help you better manage the health of your patients.
