Envision Physician Services is seeking a DAY and NOCTURNIST physicians at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX.

We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated Hospitalist Physicians to join our collegial team at Metro Methodist. As a Hospitalist, you will be an integral part of our program, providing comprehensive inpatient care to our diverse patient population. Your clinical expertise, collaborative approach, and commitment to patient-centered care will contribute to the overall success of our team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Physician and APP Staffing:

    • Participate in a 14-physician and 2-APP program.
    • Physician staffing:
      • 7 physicians for day shifts.
      • 1 physician for night shifts.
    • APP staffing:
      • 1 APP from 1 pm to 1 am.
  2. Open ICU Management:

    • Collaborate with Intensivists to manage the Open ICU.
    • Intensivists are available 24/7, either on-site or reachable by phone.
    • Coordinate admissions and consultations with the Intensivist team.
    • Act as the primary attending physician for patients in the Open ICU, regardless of their location.
  3. Code and Procedure Responsibilities:

    • ED providers are responsible for running codes.
    • Hospitalists have the option to perform procedures if they are privileged, although time constraints often limit these opportunities.
  4. Rounding and Admissions:

    • Rounding: Hospitalists have flexibility in rounding. You can either stay the full 12 hours or follow a round and go approach.
    • Admissions: From 7 am to 7 pm, the schedule is divided into four 3-hour call shifts, with three physicians not on call each day. Physicians rotate through the schedule, and if not on call, they round and go.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Active medical license and unrestricted ability to practice medicine.
  • Must be a valid US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Unfortunately we cannot consider J-1 or H-1B Visa holders at this hospital.
  • Experience in hospital medicine, including managing a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Excellent clinical skills and the ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with current medical knowledge and practices.
