DOTHAN, AL (2 Hours from Florida's Gulf Coast) - (IM) Hospitalist Opportunity
Hospital employed Hospitalist group seeks additional internal medicine residency trained physiciansto join a robust, rapidly growing practice as a hospitalist. Southeast Health is a 420-bed regional
referral and Level II trauma center in Dothan, Alabama. It manages its own hospitalist program.
The current practice includes more than 25 full time board certified internal medicine hospitalist
physicians.
Daily 12 physicians work the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift and 2 physicians and a CRNP provide
care during the 7 p.m.–7 a.m. shift. Average daily census is 15-20 patients per provider.
» Provide coverage for unassigned patients who present to ED requiring inpatient care, care for transfers and inhospital consults
» Admit and co-manage with intensivist support adult patients in critical care–no procedures required
» 24/7 pulm/critical care support for all CC admissions
» Manage patients in clinical decision unit
» 24 hour subspecialty support available for all specialties including presence of in house radiology physician presence 24/7
» 12 hour work shifts, no call required
» Average schedule is 16 shifts per month
» Flexible, individualized scheduling
» Provide limited coverage for select private practice primary care patients
» Utilize in-house electronic medical records, PACS, and physician portal
» Participate in quality initiatives with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine
» Opportunity to precept 3rd and 4th year medical students
» Opportunity to teach IM residents
» Work with advanced practice providers on the hospitalist team
