Sound Physicians knows that the only way to achieve our vision of being “the unmatched leader in improving quality and lowering the cost of care in the communities we serve” is through the well-being of our people. We care about your peace of mind, and that comes from knowing that you are associating with an organization that cares about you.

SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Oklahoma City is a 601-bed regional referral facility specializing in cardiology, oncology, surgery, and behavioral medicine. The hospital, established in 1898, is located in Midtown Oklahoma City and serves the needs of Central Oklahoma, as well as many counties throughout Oklahoma, through its large rural affiliate network of hospitals. Four SSM Health St. Anthony Healthplex campuses provide convenient emergency and outpatient service access to the outlying communities of the metropolitan area. SSM Health St. Anthony added urgent care services in May 2015 at SSM Health St. Anthony North.

The main SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Oklahoma City campus is located in the revitalized Midtown – an area that over the past decade has seen significant growth largely due to a $220 million investment by SSM Health St. Anthony in its facilities. The hospital completed its latest expansion with the opening of The Pavilion, a $53 million, 111,000 square foot facility that houses a new emergency department, intensive care units, and progressive care unit.

SSM Health St. Anthony has received numerous awards including the Oklahoma Quality Award for Excellence, Certified Healthy Business, Premier QUEST® Award for High-value Healthcare Citation of Merit, among others. Healthsights ranks SSM Health St. Anthony at performance levels for quality and patient satisfaction higher than local competitors and many national health care organizations.

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required
  • Prior chief hospitalist experience preferred or 4+ years Hospitalist experience with career aspirations to lead a team
  • 100% administrative, Monday-Friday work schedule

Location and Lifestyle

The largest city in the state, Oklahoma City has a population of more than 610,000 people and more than 1 million residents in its metropolitan area. The city offers a unique blend of lifestyles from downtown urban lofts to historic preservation districts to upscale suburban neighborhoods, all within easy driving distance to St. Anthony Hospital.

Our downtown area is enjoying a renaissance with the Midtown and Bricktown districts as focal points. Enjoy sports, the arts, and outdoor activities? You'll find beautiful lakes and parks throughout the metro. Golf courses and tennis courts abound. You can take up rowing or kayaking on the Oklahoma River, just minutes from the hospital. Or you can catch an NBA game when the Oklahoma Thunder play or a minor-league baseball game when the OKC Dodgers are at the Bricktown ballpark.

The arts find expression in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, the Oklahoma City Art Museum, the Oklahoma City Ballet, and numerous stage productions throughout the year. Oklahoma City's Civic Center draws popular Broadway touring companies, while the Chesapeake Center attracts top country, rock, and pop stars. Annual community events include Red Earth, the Redbud Classic, Festival of the Arts, and Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
