Seeking a BE/BC Hospitalist to join hospital employed opening.
- Provide inpatient care with a team model of four providers of 3 physicians and 1 extender 8A-8P. Workload and call responsibilities are evenly distributed within our flexible rotating block schedule (2 different blocks available).
- Average patient load 12-14
- Our team model is designed to provide the safest and highest quality care while engaging the patient, family, and caregiver. Coordinated care starts with brief morning multidisciplinary rounds with Care Management, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Nurse Manager representation to facilitate transition of care plans. Hospitalist team provides co-management of medical care to Orthopedic and General Surgery services.
Skills Preferred:
ACLS/BLS, ventilator and vasopressor management. Emergent procedural skills include intubation and central line placement are desirable with supporting services available including two interventional radiologists, ER physician, respiratory, and general surgery.
Schedule Details:
- Hospitalist physicians work 12 hour shifts 8AM 8PM either working a 7 on 7 off model, or a rotating block schedule working 162 shifts per year. A total of 20 shifts (days) off throughout the year for PTO/CME.
- On call provider serves as point of contact for the day shift for ER and direct admissions, equally distributing new patients to the team. Night coverage is provided by Nurse practitioners and Physician Assistants who cover all inpatient Units and admissions including ICU. All critically ill patients are discussed with Hospitalists and extenders prior to being admitted.
