A community hospital in Baltimore, Maryland is hiring an experienced, BC (IM trained) Hospitalist for a full-time, permanent, and employed position! Hired physician will join a team of Hospitalists who put patient care first. Hospitalists don’t cover the ICU, aren’t required to do procedures or rapid response coverage, and Codes are run by ICU team. Hospitalist is the team lead for Rapid response.
- Schedule: 16 shifts/month. Work a combination of some admitting shifts (7am-6pm; 11am-10pm; 2p-1a) and several 5-day rounding stretches (7a-6p). Hospitalist can expect about 10-12 rounding shifts per month and 4-6 admitting shifts per month. Each hospitalist may have to cover 1 or 2 overnight admitting shifts/month - However, currently there’s enough coverage for overnights so this isn’t needed. Work 2 out of 4 weekends per month. This is not 7on/7-off schedule. Physicians may ask for regular time off but must be reasonably available for the rest of the month for scheduling.
- Patient Census: Admitting shifts see 6-7 patients per 11-hour shift; Rounding shifts see 13-14 patients per 11-hour shift.
- Compensation: Base salary, plus a productivity component (annual estimated earnings from RVU based productivity on 13 patients is $15K-$20K per year), plus a quality bonus of $10K.
