Thishealth system in a large university town in northeast GA, 70 miles from Atlanta, is seeking a board certified/board eligible Neurologist to practice Hospitalist medicine. The hospitalist will see a broad pathology of neurological patients and physician activities that includes patient care, teaching, research, and leadership related to hospital care. As expected, hospitalists manage patients throughout the continuum of hospital care, often seeing patients in the ER, admitting them to inpatient units, following them as necessary into the critical care unit, and organizing post-acute care and transfer back to their neurologist or primary care physician. This employed physician will receive a competitive salary based on MGMA guidelines, contractual benefits (including participation in health, disability, and malpractice insurance programs) relocation expenses and educational loan assistance, as well as, office setup and support from the medical center administrative management team. The hospital is a general medical and surgical hospital with 165 beds. It is also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Survey data for the latest year available shows that 35,965 patients visited the hospital's emergency room. The hospital had a total of 9,094 admissions. Its physicians performed 2,886 inpatient and 7,530 outpatient surgeries.
