Location: Southeastern Alabama city close to Florida and Georgia borders. 2.5 hours southeast of Montgomery AL and less than 2 hours to Tallahassee FL. 90 miles to Florida Gulf Coast beaches. Many physicians live on the Gulf coast and commute to work. Facility: Medical Center is a 400+ bed regional referral center and Level II trauma center serving 800 000 people throughout its neighboring communities and employs 300 physicians who represent virtually every medical specialty. The Osteopathic Medical School is underway and the 120 000-square-foot facility started enrolling students in the fall of 2012. Opportunity: Hospital employed position joining 12 other Hospitalists. Part-time and mid-level support is also available. Schedule will be 14-16 shifts of 12 hours per month. Nights will be rotated through the current staff and will be 2-3 times a month. codes for hospitalist! The ICU is open so they wish the Hospitalist to admit and provide consults but there is 24/7 Intensivist support and great sub-specialty support. No procedures required. Physicians can elect to maintain patients on the ICU and be credentialed to perform procedures if they wish. Flexible program within a congenial group. Hospitalist position can have teaching association. Very little turnover in program they treat their physicians phenomenally!
