Practice Details:
- Inpatient palliative care/hospice consultative service coverage (52 weeks/year; excludes weekends and holidays)
- New and follow-up palliative care consults
- Family meeting facilitation
- Palliative and end of life discharge planning and transitioning
- Physician liaison to Hospice
- ICU support for terminal care
Education Details: Palliative/End of Life
- Didactic education
- Palliative care teaching service
- Curriculum/rotation director: students, residents, fellows, and learners
- Attending physician for palliative care service learners
- Leadership & Hospital Administrative Responsibilities:
- Palliative care clinical service directorship
- Policy and procedural consultation and development
- Ethics committee participation
- Other committee appointments as requested
- Liaison for development of other palliative care initiatives (e.g. Supportive Care Clinic)
Supervision:
- Collaborating physician and administrative practice oversight of Nurse Practitioners
- ACGME required Site Director for palliative care fellowship experiences
- ACGME required administrative support for palliative care Fellowship Director
Compensation:
- $195,000 - $220,000 based upon experience
- Relocation: Up to 5% of salary
