Greenville, North Carolina - Just Over 1 Hr to Raleigh, NC
A medical group in Greenville, NC is hiring a BC/BE Hospice & Palliative Care physician for a full-time, permanent, and employed position. Incoming doctor will join an established Hospice and Palliative Care team that includes: 2 physicians, 6 providers, RN’s, social workers, and chaplains. The hospital is one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the flagship hospital for a health system, and serves as the teaching hospital for a University Medical School. Responsibilities will include:
- Serve as lead physician and medical director of hospice house
- Development of expanded outpatient palliative care services
- Participate in professional and community education and marketing events
- Collaborate with community referring physicians and organizations
- Manage patient care of inpatient and home hospice patients
- Perform clinical rounds on hospice inpatient unit
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds with home and inpatient team
- Conduct and participate in family meetings
- Perform and document face to face assessments for hospice certification and recertification
- Interface with palliative and hospice teams and participate in collaborative activities
