Medical center has an opportunity for a lead Palliative Care physician to join an established and growing inpatient Palliative Care Team with strong community support.

The responsibilities of the position include (but not limited to):
- Provide Palliative Care consults and follow-ups
- Provide pain and symptom management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Assist with continued development of Palliative Care programs
- Participate on the Ethics Committee
- Provide education in-house, as well as for the community

Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school. BC/BE in Internal Medicine and successful completion of training in an ACGME accredited Palliative Care fellowship program required.

License / Certification: MD or DO licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified from American Heart Association; Board Certified / Eligible in Palliative Care by the American Board of Medical Specialties; Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges; Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs; Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.

Experience: Advanced analytical skills regarding evaluation and treatment; Ability to use professional approach to problem solving during stressful situations; Communication with others shall reflect a positive attitude and enthusiasm; Behavior exemplifies organizational philosophy; Willing to attend specialty education when requested.

Community hospital is a 49-bed state-of-the-art community hospital serving the patients of Southern Oregon. In this role you will work with a team of highly qualified Emergency Medicine professionals to provide excellent healthcare to the community of Ashland and the surrounding areas. This position will provide about 10 - 20 hours per month in an administrative Medical Director role and remaining shifts will be in Emergency Medicine practice. Our Emergency Department sees about 10,000 people per year, with single physician coverage, 12 hours shifts, and 9 hours of advanced practice provider coverage daily.
