Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas has an opening for an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutics Division of the KU Cancer Center. Preferred candidates will have 3 or more years of academic experience, be board certified in hematology or oncology and have completed a bone marrow transplant fellowship. The position provides medical care for both clinic and hospitalized patients as well as contributes to various research, educational and clinical initiatives related to areas of individual interest and expertise. Serves in a clinician educator role with responsibility for education of residents and medical students.

Qualifications:
- Clinical or translational research.
- Clinical trial development.
- Expertise in high dose chemotherapy and management of patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic bone marrow and stem cell transplantation.
- Attend on the bone marrow transplant service 3 or 4 months a year.
- Supervise plan of care, procedures, tests and consultation ordering of Housestaff.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary approach including case manager, pharmacy, nursing, respiratory and social services.
- Share on call rotation 10-12 weekends per year.
- Establish outpatient clinics for bone marrow transplant patients.
- Attend hematology/oncology conferences, journal clubs, etc.
- Present teaching lectures to residents, medical students and fellows.
- Participate in clinical trials and other research as developed.
