Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Locum Tenens and Full-time Cardiologists to support Veterans Affairs (VA) medical activities at the Wilkes-Barre VAMC located at 1111 East End BLVD, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. Multiple positions are available. The Cardiologists shall cover the range of general cardiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards. Hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • 99% of the time involved in direct patient care
  • Provides diagnostic cardiology care
  • Patient assessment and cardiac care management, including but not limited to seeing and assessing patients in the cardiology clinic, and as a backup to staff physicians echo, holters, and ECG interpretation; stat studies will be interpreted and signed off the same day; routine studies need to be completed and signed off within 5 (five) working days; all outpatient clinic notes and encounters will be completed and signed off within 24 hours of seeing the patient, inpatient notes and encounters must be completed same day
  • Correspondence with VA providers
  • Provides clinical, diagnostic cardiology services
  • Present on time for any scheduled clinics/procedures as documented by physical presence in the clinic at the scheduled start time
  • Maintains a collegial relationship with all staff members
  • Approximate case load is as follows: 18x 20-min slots per day for F/U patients and new patients get 2x 20-min slots
  • Provides consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic
  • Follows all established medication policies and procedures; no sample medications shall be provided to patients.
  • Provides discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all cardiology patients
  • 1% related administrative duties and meetings

Qualifications
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license(s) to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • DEA license
  • 3x professional references (name, title, facility, email and/or telephone)
  • Copy of medical degree
