**Lead Gynecologist opening near San Francisco** * Located in ***San Rafael, CA*** - 20m from San Francisco; 22m fro Oakland; 60m from San Jose * Full time, permanent * Employed * Seeking a BC/BE Gynecologist to serve as Lead Gynecologist in a hospital-setting * This is a full-time position with two days of clinic, one day administrative, and approximately 6 hours per week of additional meetings or operating room time. * It is recommended that the Lead Gynecologist Physician seek to contract separately with the Prima Hospitalist Group for Labor & Delivery on-call shifts at the medical center where the hospital's patients deliver. * The Lead Gynecologist Physician is also expected to perform gynecologic surgery so must maintain admitting privileges at the medical center. * Reporting to the Associate Chief Medical Officer, the Lead Gynecologist Physician provides medical leadership and oversight of MCCs Obstetrics and Gynecology clinical services. * The Physician-led Gynecologist works in conjunction with the hospital's Women's Health Providers to ensure quality OB/GYN services are delivered, including providing high-risk case management, supervising advanced practice clinicians, reviewing and developing clinical protocols, and providing staff development activities. * The Lead Gynecologist Physician provides coordination of care between the outpatient and inpatient setting for high-risk OB/GYN patients, both on an individual and programmatic level. Along with working collaboratively with the Ob Program Manager, providers, and management at the medical center, the Lead Gynecologist Physician will work closely with the Ob/Gyn department and leadership, WIC staff, Prima Ob/Gyn providers, and Prima Medical Foundation to ensure good continuity of care between the outpatient and inpatient settings. **Position requirements:** * This position requires a valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine in the specialized disciplines of obstetrics and gynecology. * 3-5 years experience in obstetrics and gynecology, physicians who have just completed their residency are also encouraged to apply. * A current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs. * A current BLS certification. * The willingness and ability to follow clinic policies, objectives and mission established by regulations, grants, management or the Board of Directors. * Must be Board Certified; or willing to become board certified if Board Eligible. * Proficiency in medical Spanish is required. * Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventive medicine. * Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and HHS/HRSA regulations. * Knowledge of NextGen EHR a plus. * Knowledge of the structure and operations of community health centers. * Competency in dealing with people of various cultures and social statuses. * Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, board members, patients, and the general public.
