Benefis Health System is seeking a GI Hospitalist to see inpatients at Benefis Health System. Our hospital has 349 acute care beds and serves over 80,000 residents in our surrounding area, as well as 275,000 residents across north central Montana. Applicants must be board eligible/certified in Gastroenterology.
Work Hours and Call Coverage:
24 hour shift model, inpatient only, consulting inpatients daily by covering inpatient emergent and non-emergent GI needs.
Compensation and Benefits:
This opportunity is an employed position. We offer a nationally competitive shift based compensation and our comprehensive benefits include retirement plan, health, dental, and vision insurances, generous CME, relocation/sign-on bonus and malpractice.
Growth Opportunities:
If desired, there is additional growth potential to take shifts in the outpatient office setting, participate in area outreach and education, as well as an opportunity to participate in the development of an endoscopic ultrasound program. Experience in endoscopic ultrasound is a plus! The office practice is located in the new Benefis Medical Professional Building which is connected to the hospital for easy access.
Procedures (performed by clinic gastroenterologist):
Approximately 2,000 procedures a year
o Colonoscopies
o EGDs
o ERCPs
o Flexible sigmoidoscopies
o PEG tube placements
The endoscopy unit includes six endoscopy suites and one bronch lab. It is designed as an ambulatory Surgical Center and all patients are managed within the unit with occasional procedures in the OR, primarily pediatric patients.
Endoscopy Suite Information:
o Olympus equipment
o Six endoscopy suites and one bronchoscopy suite
o 10 bed recovery unit
o Experienced and helpful staff of RNs and techs
