Gastroenterologist

Benefis Health System is seeking a second BE/BC gastroenterologist to join an established GI practice in Great Falls, Montana. The practice serves 60,000 Great Falls residents as well as 275,000 residents across north central Montana. Applicants must be board eligible/certified and ERCP trained (will consider fellows in training).

Currently, all our existing Gastroenterologists are nearing retirement, creating a unique opportunity for a new physician to step into a thriving practice. There is additional growth potential through area outreach and education, as well as an opportunity to participate in the development of an endoscopic ultrasound program. Applicants must be board eligible/certified. ERCP and EUS training a plus.

The endoscopy unit includes six endoscopy suites and one bronch lab. It is designed as an ambulatory Surgical Center and all patients are managed within the unit with occasional procedures in the OR, primarily pediatric patients.

The office practice is located in the new Benefis Medical Professional Building which is connected to the hospital for easy access.

Procedures (performed by retiring gastroenterologist):
Approximately 2,000 procedures a year
o Colonoscopies
o EGDs
o ERCPs
o Flexible sigmoidoscopies
o PEG tube placements


Endoscopy FACTS:

o Olympus equipment
o Six endoscopy suites and one bronchoscopy suite
o 10 bed recovery unit
o Experienced and helpful staff of RNs and techs

Work Hours and Call Coverage:
Consult patients daily, with half-day office hours. There are no weekend clinic hours. Physicians currently take their own call during the week and rotate weekends. Hospital call schedule is one in four allowing time to enjoy the Montana lifestyle.
