Harris Medical Associates is seeking a BC/GI for a VAMC in West Virginia long term locum assignment . Below is the Scope of work
Assignment dates 7/1/2015-6/30/2016 with 1 year option
Average outpatient load 10-14
Average # of Procedures-Approximately 6-7 per day, 30-35 per week
Number of exam rooms-One exam room for clinic day, Endo-Suite has 4 procedure rooms
Inpatient census per day Acute Ward approximately 22-26 daily, ICU approximately 5-7 daily (NOT GI SPECIFIC)
Hospital admissions per week-Approximately >5 per week- GI Specific
Number of consults, phone calls, callbacks per night/weekend day
Consults- Approximately 200 per month Outpatient and 20-25 per month Inpatient
Phone Calls- Results Letters are done post procedure and mailed to the patient, Clinic phone calls average 1-3 per week for outpatient clinic
On-call Phone Calls- Approximately 5-7 a month
Rounding in AM, PM or both-GI MD is consulted as needed by Intensivist or Hospitalist
ICU involvement- As needed for bleeds or emergent procedures and recover; not often, many times the patient is transferred to a higher level of care facility
ER is covered by the ER MD 24 hours
# of hospital beds- 30 acute inpatient beds and 8 ICU beds
On-Call is required, no more than 14 days per month. Approximate number of calls is less than 5 per month
Endo Scoping days per week, 1 clinic day per week
Outpatient (GI Clinic days) approximately 14 patients, Inpatient approximately >2 per week 13 RN’s within the Endo Suite, 1 MSA to schedule outpatient clinic and 2 MSA’s to schedule procedures
