Locum Source is working with a Primary Care Practice in Georgia that is looking for ongoing coverage as soon as credentialed or until a perm is found. If you are exploring permanent positions, this is a great way to “test the waters” before signing a contract.
DATES:
As soon credentialed – Ongoing
SCHEDULE:
Day shift – hours may vary as early as 7am – 7pm
No call
SETTING:
Public Service, clinic environment, servicing homeless and underserved on an outpatient basis
10-12 patients per day
Mostly adult population
Will not be responsible for supervising, in house codes, or ED backup
EMR is Epic
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the Direction of the Medical Director, the Staff Physician is responsible for providing direct patient care, as well as direction, supervision and provider consultation. This position is responsible for quality assurance; medical chart and lab review; adherence to clinical protocols and pharmacy and radiology procedures; and compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, PCER, and OSHA regulations. Helps to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and professional standards pertaining to quality patient care in the ambulatory setting.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Clinical expertise and competence in providing direct services and medical consultation is required. Knowledge regarding the role and scope of practice of mid-level providers, particularly nurse practitioners. Knowledge of effective and efficient clinical operations is required. Good staff supervisory skills. Familiarity with health problems specific to immigrants, the medically underserved and homeless population preferred. Working knowledge of principles and practices of administration, including planning, organization, and financial and personal reporting practices as required by state.
REQUIREMENTS:
Active Georgia License and DEA
Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Local only, mileage is reimbursed
COVID-19 Vaccinated
Must be comfortable performing pelvic exams and pap smears and employment physicals.
HIGHLY PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Bilingual in Spanish
Familiarity and experience in treating medically underserved and immigrant populations, including dealing with patients of diverse backgrounds, with experience in treating the homeless
Experience in the supervision of professional staff and/or administrative experience
Must have proof of COVID-19 Vaccine
