Veteran Health Indiana is opening a new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

The Medical Director of the Terre Haute VA Primary Care Clinic provides administrative, programmatic, and clinical leadership for primary care services at that location to ensure achievement of the clinical, research, and education goals. The incumbent reports to the Deputy chief of Primary Care. This position is a dual clinical and administrative role. The panel of patients will include both male and female veterans with acute and chronic illnesses. The incumbent is also expected to participate in implementing/sustaining the VA Patient Centered Medical Home Model called Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). There is no on-call involved. The Incumbent will demonstrate proficiency in practice, planning, and self-direction in goal setting for managing each Veteran's medical need. Candidates must be board-certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with leadership experience and have administrative capabilities.
Scope of practice will be within the Primary Care division of the General Medicine Service Line. The incumbent will demonstrate a high level of flexibility and commitment to meet the needs of a complex evolving patient care system and will advocate for quality patient care.

Qualifications of the VA Physician

Only one active, unrestricted state license is required to work in any VA facility.

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

Proficiency in spoken and written English.
