Our client, a nonprofit healthcare organization in the New York Metropolitan Area, is currently seeking a Primary Care Physician. The Primary Care Physician will provide care and treatment to the center’s patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision for all medical / clinical staff, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
  • Provide back-up medical coverage for medical / clinical staff
  • Lead the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team
  • Represent the CMO at state and national levels when requested
  • Participate as a member of committees, including peer review
  • Perform history and physical assessments
  • Provide services in accordance with generally acceptable standards of medical practice
  • Develop a plan of treatment/care for the patient that also includes education and follow-up visits
  • Make appropriate professional referrals, as indicated by the needs of the patient
  • Communicate with other health care providers related to diagnosis, treatment and plan for the patient
  • Maintain current and complete documentation in the medical record that reflects the care and services provided to the patient
  • Adhere to the center’s established policies and procedures
  • Participate as a member of the medical staff and adheres to the medical staff bylaws
  • Supervise and consult with staff nurse practitioners/physician assistants
  • Participate in the on-call and emergency coverage schedule
  • Participate in all managed care plans
  • Oversee care coordination with medical case management and health education

Requirements:

  • MD/DO
  • Board certified or eligible in Internal or Family Medicine
  • Valid NYS medical license
  • DEA
  • Commitment to serving the underprivileged
