Ghost RX is currently searching for Family Practice Physician to provide coverage for the Mescalero Indian Health Service Unit located in Mescalero, NM. Any state license is accepted.

Length of Contract:

6-month period with possible 6-month extension.

Job Expectations:

The contractor shall provide General Family Physician healthcare services with the following specifications:

· The Contractor shall work on as needed basis to cover in the absence of permanent Medical Providers.

· Mescalero Service Unit, outpatient clinic service hours are 8:00 am thru 7:00 pm, Mon-Friday, and 1:00 pm thru 5:00 pm Sat-Sun. Holiday outpatient hours to include 1:00 pm thru 5:00 pm.

· Contractor shall provide direct patient care on a varied schedule, 40 hours a week which may include, weekends and holidays.

· Contractor shall provide curbside patient care which may include COVID testing.

· Contractor will adhere to the scope of work and accept work assignments from the Clinical Director.

· Contractor shall participate directly in the medical care of patients, performing functions to the extent delineated by the medical staff privileges process.

· Contractor shall provide direct care/services to pediatric, geriatric, adolescent and adult patients in the outpatient setting which may include patients with COVID 19 and Flu diagnosis, exposure and/or symptoms.

· Contractor shall assess, diagnose needs and sets up a plan of action to meet identified needs by providing health services to individuals and families as a primary health resource. Diagnosis shall be assigned utilizing ICD-10 methodology.

· Contractor shall provide therapeutic and preventive health services to individual patients, family members and patient groups.

· Contractor shall make decisions concerning medical care needs of patients with physicians and designated consultants. Decisions will take into consideration all of the available resources, including nursing, social services, case management. Etc.

· Contractor shall identify and manage specific illnesses. Identify and manage preventive aspects of these same illnesses.

· Contractor shall identify and refer for follow-up any patient requiring ongoing medical care. Arranges for the admission of acutely ill patients to the inpatient service or to Tertiary Care Centers as necessary, following EMTALA/COBRA procedures.

· Contractor shall provide thorough and concise written documentation of evaluations, treatment plan, active orders for lab and medication, case management services, referrals, and correspondence through the Electronic Health Record in a timely manner in accordance to the MSU HIM Internal Control policy.

· Contractor shall follow standards set forth by JCAHO for the provision of ambulatory care services.

· Contractor shall provide consultation to a wide variety of Indian Health Service staff including physicians and other health professionals, paraprofessionals, and mental health clinician. Provides professional consultation, as directed, to community resources and/or to segments of the organization other than those to which the incumbent is assigned, such as Tribal, State, Federal and private agencies concerned with the welfare of Indian Health Service beneficiaries.

· Contractor shall refer and coordinate contract health care for patients requiring admission hospitalization in an acute hospital setting.
