Physician Family Practitioner

Location: Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA

Work Schedule: Physician, Lead – Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0645 and 1900. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and half (8.5) hour period, to include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute lunch break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of eighty (80) hours per two-week period.

Qualifications:

5.2.1.1.1.2. Be board certified in Family Practice as determined by the American Board of Family Practice.

5.2.1.1.2. Physician, Lead

5.2.1.1.2.1. Possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience within five (5) years as a “lead” physician.

5.2.1.1.3. Physician, (Coverage)

5.2.1.1.3.1. Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the preceding two (2) years.

5.2.1.1.3.2. Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to contract start and maintain according to ACLS guidelines.

5.2.1.1.3.3. Provide two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last two (2) years attesting to the HCW’s clinical skills. A minimum of one (1) of the letters must be from a supervisor. The other letter must be from either clinic or hospital administrators, or practicing physicians. Reference letters shall attest to the quality and quantity of experience including, but not limited to, the communication skills between practitioner and patient and among peers, and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.
