Physician - Pulmonology job Overview:

  • Diagnoses and treats diseases.
  • Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records.
  • Performs diagnostic procedures including x-ray examinations, clinical laboratory tests, pulmonary function tests, critical care, and sleep studies.
  • Perform a full range and spectrum of comprehensive specialty care onsite
  • Evaluation and treatment of emergent, urgent, and non-emergent patients ranging in age as young as 18 years to over 65 years.
  • Coordinates pulmonary services with other medical activities.
  • Provides inpatient pulmonary services during normally scheduled hours of performance, to include on-call hours when applicable.
  • Provide instruction for adult nurse practitioner students, physician assistant interns, medical students, interns, and residents in the form of clinical rotations.
  • Write initial admission orders.
  • Prescribe and administer drugs.
  • See new patient consults and established follow-up clinic visits.
  • Provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled
  • Provide inpatient care
  • Provide critical care consults to patients admitted to ICU and assist primary teams in their patient management.
  • Participate in the inpatient care of critically ill patients.
  • Medical Records Documentation
  • Possess basic knowledge in management and daily operation of a clinic servicing a large number of patients with a variety of healthcare needs and illnesses.
  • Direct supporting Government employees assigned to them during the performance of clinical duties.
  • Perform administrative duties

Physician - Pulmonology job Qualification:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or a Doctor of Pulmonary Medicine from an approved school of medicine
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) Requirements
  • Residency or Fellowship: pulmonology and critical care medicine
  • Must be capable of performing the full range of pulmonology and critical care services.
  • Pulmonology or critical care services a minimum of 24 months within the last 36 months.
  • Current board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonology and critical care.
  • Licensure: Licensed Physician/Medical Doctor. Any U.S. state.
  • Computer competency
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • DEA
