UConn Health is located in the greater Hartford area, mid-way between New York City and Boston, and within commuting distance of New Haven. UConn Health is a growing organization composed of the schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine; Graduate Programs in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, and Clinical and Translational Research; the UConn John Dempsey Hospital.

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine seeks Family Physician educators (Assistant/Associate Professors) for several positions within the expanding Department.
The Department has two locations: the residency/faculty practice based in Hartford CT and a growing full spectrum family medicine practice in Canton CT.

Hartford CT:
  • Academic family medicine
  • Provide teaching, evaluation and administration for residents and medical students.
  • Full-scope family medicine physician will care for both ambulatory and hospitalized patients; OB privileges are highly preferred.
  • The program is an accredited 7/7/7 Family Medicine Residency Program.
  • Full-time commitment includes shared night call and weekend rounding.
  • Ambulatory practice based at the Family Medicine Center at Asylum Hill
  • Inpatient/hospital care practice based at Trinity Health Of New England-St. Francis Hospital.
  • Trinity Health of New England-St. Francis Hospital (THOfNE-SFH) is located in the west-end of Hartford. The Family Medicine Center at Asylum Hill is directly across the street from the hospital.
  • The residency program has been based in Hartford for more than 30 years with an on-going mission to serve the underserved of the city.
Canton CT:
  • Clinician-educator needed to join our full spectrum family medicine practice.
  • The ideal candidate is a high-quality clinician with interest and/or expertise in teaching. OB privileges are highly preferred.
  • Initially the position will be clinical with medical student teaching; educational and research/scholarly activity anticipated in subsequent years as the faculty practice group grows.
  • The practice admits to John Dempsey Hospital on the UConn Health campus.
Position requirements:
  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Family Medicine
  • Connecticut medical license
  • Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and congruent with AAMC Faculty Salary table guidelines.
