We are looking for a Locum – Perm Candidate for our client located in Fairbanks, AK. Please see the profile below and let me know if you are interested.
Profile:
Reason for coverage: physician turnover.
Specialty: Family or Internal Medicine – must be board certified. BE ok only with new grad who plans to sit for boards.
Dates for coverage: 1 – 3 month locums to perm, as soon as licensed and credentialed
Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), small and mission-driven clinic. A mission-driven physician works out best here, they are intrinsically motivated.
Hours of need: M – F 9am – 6pm, plus meetings.
Charting: EHR – Centricity. Must be proficient with EHR and comfortably charting during visit. We are nationally recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home by the NCQA and one of our requirements due to this level of recognition is that we give the plan of care to the patient before they leave the visit so providers need to chart during the visit and finish the visit so much that we can print the plan of care.
Average patients per day: 16 – 19
Other physicians in practice: 2 – 1 is IM and the other is FM
FM physician needs to be comfortable (or willing to take an evidence-based refresher course before starting) seeing patients across the lifespan, new born through geriatric, including routine prenatal care. IM doc needs to be comfortable seeing patients 18+ for acute and chronic disease and must include women’s health.
No call while locums but call is shared one week at a time for perm. Call is telephone call only, no responding.
Population: adult 75%, geriatric 20%, pediatric 5%
Payor mix: self pay 27%, insurance 30%, Medicaid 29%, medicare 14%
Fairbanks: Fairbanks is a welcoming community for families or singles with seemingly limitless activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, trials, canoeing, boating; spectator sports; various church denominations; and art and cultural events.
Pay is $90/hour as a Locum and Malpractice will be covered.
Client will cover travel and lodging.
