About the Vein Physician

Upperline is seeking a doctor who can provide care for patients presenting with vein concerns and diagnose and treat venous disease in a vein clinic based in the Indianapolis, IN area. This will include a range of clinical tasks, such as performing a physical examination, assessing, and diagnosing patients based on the results of an ultrasound, triaging, and treating lower extremity venous needs. The ideal candidate should be a board-certified surgeon, physician or interventional radiologist with experience reading ultrasounds and performing endovenous procedures. RPhS, RPVI and/or ABVLM certifications are strongly preferred or a willingness to become certified within the first year. The quality of our care is paramount, and we are very selective when evaluating providers. Upperline is looking for a provider with high clinical skills, who also enjoys working within a group organization and is comfortable being proactive to meet and discuss patient care and clinical guidelines with colleagues as well as capable and willing to maintain a busy and productive schedule. This provider must have a positive and professional demeanor and help patients understand the benefits and risks of their treatment.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess the vascular condition presented, listen to patients concerns, perform a physical examination, order ultrasounds, diagnose and implement the care plan following the duplex ultrasound
  • Perform venous procedures and treatments, including vein ablations and sclerotherapy
  • Educate patients on chronic vein disease
  • Build relationships and collaborate on patient care with Upperline’s podiatric physicians
  • Prescribe medication as permitted by the state
  • Maintain patient medical records and documentation consistent with state regulations and Upperline Health Standards and policy on a daily basis
  • Exhibit strong compassion for our patients and their families and provide excellent oral and written communication to ensure that each interaction with patients, family caregivers, clinicians and team members is effective and meaningful
  • Participate in continuing education as required

Qualifications of the Vein Physician

  • Board certified surgeon, physician, emergency physician, primary care physician or Interventional Radiologist with experience interpreting vascular ultrasounds and performing endovenous procedures
  • RPhS, RPVI or ABVLM certification is preferred or willingness to become certified
  • Desire to focus 100% on the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease
